Applying for Kindergarten, Kinder Academy & 1st – 6th Grades


 2020/2021 School Year

The Santa Rosa City Schools Charter Lottery will take place on Thursday, March 5th in the Teaching and Learning Conference Room located on the Santa Rosa City Schools District Campus located at 211 Ridgeway Ave. Here are the times for each school:

12:00-12:30  Cesar Chavez Language Academy

12:30-1:15   Santa Rosa Charter School for the Arts

1:15-1:45     Santa Rosa French-American Charter School

1:45-2:30     Santa Rosa Accelerated Charter School


The Application Window is now closed for the 2020/2021 school year lottery. Please contact the office to be placed on a wait list after the lottery.


 Current School Year

Enrollment for the 2019/20 school year has now closed as we are at capacity in every grade level and we have a waiting list (unless you are enrolling a child in grades 4th-6th who has attended a French Immersion School or is already fluent in French).

Contact our school office to place your child on the wait list.


Tours/Open Houses:  

             Drop in Tours will begin on October 18th at 9am and continue every Friday at 9am.



             Children must be 5 years old on or before September 1, 2020.


Kinder Academy:

Kinder Academy is the first year of a two-year kindergarten program that uses a modified kindergarten curriculum that is age and developmentally appropriate. A child is eligible for Kinder Academy if his/her fifth birthday falls between September 2 & December 2, 2020.


1st-6th Grades

            Limited availability.


1st Grade – no prior French experience required

2nd-3rd Grade - French experience highly recommended

4th-8th Grades -- Only francophones or students with at least one year in a francophone school or a French immersion program will be accepted.



After your child is accepted you will need to submit these documents online or at the school site.


Proof of Date of Birth:      Proof of birth date must be a legal birth certificate, baptismal certificate, passport, or immigration card.

Proof of Address:               Rental agreement, bill (cable, PG&E, trash, etc). If you do not have your own residence and are living with another person/family,                                                  bring a  letter from that person and a utility bill with that person's name and address.

Proof of Immunization:    

          POLIO                          3 doses if at least one was given on or after 4th birthday.                                                                                                                                                                               4 doses if given before 4th birthday.

          DPT                              4 doses if at least one was given on or after 4th birthday.                                                                                                                                                                               5 doses if given before 4th birthday.

MMR                           2 doses on or after the first birthday.

HEPATITIS B               3 doses.

VARICELLA                 2 doses or Physician's note if your child had had chickenpox.

An oral health assessment (dental check up) is required by May 31st in a child's first year in public school. The assessment must be by a licensed dentist or licensed/registered dental health professional.

A physical exam is required by law for first grade. However, we suggest that you child have a physical prior to starting kindergarten. Please have a physical given after February 21, 2020 so it will meet the health examination for school entry requirement.
